Finnish Innovation Fund gets new leader
The Supervisory Board of the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra has appointed members of the Board, including a new president.
Sitra’s former President , Esko Aho, took up a position at Nokia on 1 November 2008. During the intervening period, Kari Tolvanen, Executive Vice President, has acted as President of Sitra. Mikko Kosonen has worked for Sitra since 2007. As a Special Advisor and member of the strategic management team, he has been an influential figure in shaping Sitra’s current strategy and has been responsible for developing and managing Sitra's innovation activities.
He transferred to Sitra from Nokia where he worked in various positions in Finland and abroad since 1984. His duties included acting as Executive Advisor and Vice President responsible for the Group’s strategic planning and information management.
Sitra also states that the continuing on the Board are Raimo Sailas from the Permanent State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Erkki Virtanen from the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Employment and Economy, and Harri Skog at the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education. New Board members are Anne Kovalainen at the Turku School of Economics and professor Anu Bradford from the Law School of the University of Chicago.
