The city of museums
More than 75 museums are situated in Stockholm. The Vasa Museum is the most popular, followed by the National Museum och The Swedish Museum of Natural History. This year, The Vasa Museum won the TRIP Global Award where French, German, English, Dutch, Italian, Russian and American travel organizers chose their favorite Swedish attraction. The museums in Stockholm have temporary exhibitions that last from a few months to a year or more, as well as permanent displays. Note that most museums are closed on Mondays.
The Swedish capital also offers the latest in fashion and IT. Stockholmers are often used as a test market by international companies, as they are quick to pick up on the latest trends. This is very obvious in the popular SoFo area, a part of the city where fashion, young culture and entertainment is exploding. For more shopping, visit the fashionable boutiques and busy malls around Stureplan.
