How to get visitors to your booth

Food, ball throwing and laser engraved pens. There are many tricks to attract visitors to the stands at Scanlab.
The stand of Buch & Holm is full of people, celebrating it's 75 th year in the laboratory business. The crowd is offered Cava and a guessing game with the help of a cabinet with small boxes – in which of them is a camera hidden? In addition to laboratory equipment the exhibitors are using a variety of tricks to attract visitors.

“We are a well known brand that many visitors are looking for. And the competition and Cava makes it easier, "says Jörgen Hadvig of Buch & Holm.

Laser engraved pens at the Eppendorf Nordics stand draws the attention of the visitors. With the help of a machine that Eppendorf Nordic has borrowed from a German partner, pipette-like pens are engraved with the name of the visitor.

“The rumor has spread that we have these pens. We are satisfied, the flow of visitors has been pretthy low in the mornings but now there's a lot of people", says Liselotte Schmidt, Administrative Director at Eppendorf Nordic.

The majority of exhibitors who have large amounts of visitors at their booths seem to agree on the need for something extra happening there. Great equipment and a friendly welcoming is not enough. VWR has taken this concept to the highest level hiring a team of innovative chefs to cook with the help of their products. Bitten Stenden, sales manager, is satisfied. She believes that the initiative has given VWR a broader discussion with customers.

-"We have asked people what their their dream lab would look like and it is a good starting point".

She believes that this year's visitors have been more prepared than ever.

“They have not just been out to have a look at equipment. Many visitors have brought list of what they are interested in. They are more qualified customers," says Bitten Stender.
